F-Series cameras meet the strictest global standards for explosive atmospheres — covering gases, vapors, combustible dusts, and ignitable fibers.
Questions from Engineers & Procurement Teams
The F100 is the right choice for wired installations with existing network infrastructure — its PoE and redundant DC input covers the vast majority of fixed-camera deployments in process plants, refineries, and onshore facilities. The F200 is specified when connectivity requirements go beyond standard PoE: SFP fiber for long cable runs or electrically isolated segments, or 4G/5G cellular for remote, offshore, or temporary locations without cabled network access. Weight is also a factor — the F100 at 12.4 lbs is significantly lighter than the F200 at 27–29 lbs, which matters for elevated or structurally constrained mounting positions. Our engineering team can cross-reference your area classification, connectivity infrastructure, and mounting constraints to confirm the right configuration.
Spectrum provides a complete documentation package for engineering and procurement teams: datasheets, installation manuals, original certification documents (cFMus, ATEX, IECEx, INMETRO, PESO, UKCA, EAC), declaration of conformity, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality certificates, and bill of materials per assembly. US patent documentation (US 9917428 and US D858611) is also available. For project-specific submittals, expedited documentation requests, or third-party verification requirements, contact our technical team directly.
F-Series cameras are built around industry-standard IP camera platforms with broad VMS integration support via ONVIF Profile S and manufacturer SDKs. Integration with SCADA systems typically occurs at the network layer — the camera provides standard RTSP streams (H.264/H.265) that can be consumed by any compliant video management or monitoring platform. For specific integration requirements, contact us with your VMS platform and firmware version and we will confirm compatibility before specification.
Lead times vary by model and configuration. Standard F100 assemblies are typically available within 4–6 weeks from order confirmation. F200 configurations, particularly 4G and 5G wireless models, may require 6–10 weeks depending on component availability. For project-based procurement with defined quantities and a phased delivery schedule, Spectrum can discuss stocking agreements to reduce lead times. Contact our sales team with your project schedule and bill of materials for a committed delivery timeline.
Yes. Equipment certified for Division 1 and Zone 1 — the most stringent hazardous area classifications — is inherently approved for use in Division 2 and Zone 2 areas of the same class and group. Specifying F-Series cameras in Division 2 or Zone 2 areas is therefore fully permissible and provides an added layer of safety margin for areas where hazardous conditions may only occasionally be present. This is often preferred by facilities that anticipate reclassification or operational changes over the equipment lifecycle.
F-Series enclosures are designed for standard NPT conduit connections compatible with North American installation practices, and are also available with metric thread options for IEC installations. Spectrum can advise on certified cable gland selections appropriate for your cable type, conductor count, and area classification. Proper conduit sealing within 18 inches of the enclosure is required per NEC 501 for Division 1 installations — our technical team can support your electrical contractor with compliant installation guidance and conduit seal specifications.
For installations subject to mechanical vibration — compressor decks, pump skids, or rotating equipment areas — the SCS-VM Vibration Mount is available as a certified accessory compatible with both F100 and F200 enclosures. The SD-RSK Reliable Securing Kit included with every F-Series assembly also incorporates vibration-ready bolted connection hardware and a secondary retention cable, ensuring the assembly remains secure under dynamic load conditions and meeting DROPS (Dropped Object Prevention Scheme) standards for elevated and offshore installations.
F-Series cameras are designed and manufactured by Spectrum Camera Solutions at our Houston, Texas facility. Production operates under ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management) certification, with full material and process traceability. US manufacturing supports NDAA compliance requirements and simplifies procurement for customers with domestic content requirements in federal, defense, or energy sector contracts. A 5-year manufacturer's warranty applies to all F-Series assemblies.
